Lonely Peaks draws on the landscapes of Queenstown, especially the Remarkables and Shotover River. Family visits from my childhood helped inspire me and wanted to base the soundscape off of what always captivated me. How the river rippled in the background or the astonishing prescence of the Remarkables. As you travel up the Remarkables you feel the chill of the mountains but also has a luminiscent feel to it. These lines by the poet F.B. Money-Coultts inspired the title:

Ye lonely peaks with brows of ice! Ye lonely peaks with breasts of snow!
